The Vembanad lake at Kumarakom in Kottayam,Kerala, an enchanting picnic spot and a fastdeveloping backwater tourist destination, provides boating in houseboat trip. The lake is very large with coconut trees lining both sides of it. There are some houses on both the sides under the coconut trees, just like in the pictures. You will see lot of boat traffic in the lake, both motor boats as well as muscle powered ones. There are also a lot of ducks in the water.
