Medappara is a village in the Kozhikode district, located in the southeast of Poovaranthode and east of Ottaplavu. It is 38 kilometers east of the Kozhikode district headquarters and 17 kilometers from Koduvally. From a distance, the mountain looks like an elephant. You have to walk in the forest for about 2 hours to reach this place. The trail may be completely covered by fog, and the view from the top is amazing, making you forget the distance you have traveled.
Medappara is surrounded by Ranni Block to the north, Pathanamthitta Block to the west, Parakode Block to the west, and Elanthoor Block to the west. This place is located on the border of Pathanamthitta District and Kollam District. Kollam District Pathanapuram is to the south of this place.You can see good views from the top of Medappara hill. The Kerala Tourism Department has launched a mobile app to help tourists. This app will help tourists to find tourist places in Kerala and record their travel experiences.Actor Mohanlal released the app at a function in Kovalam. Additional Chief Secretary K Venu was also present on the occasion.

The mobile app will be of great help to tourists. Travelers can activate the app’s live audio guide to provide five tourist locations around their current location.
