Meesapulimala is a peak in the high ranges of Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala at an elevation of 2,640 metres (8,661 ft).It is the second highest peak in south India and it is the highest
trek-able peak in south India.The 8 kilometer long trek from the Rhodovalley, 15 kilometers from Munnar town, offers the trekkers breathtaking views of the grasslands, rainforest's and wildlife present at the high altitude. Access to the peak is restricted. You should book through KFDC to trek to the peak. Other routes are illegal and you could get caught by forest guards if found. Trekking difficulty is moderate and KFDC provides experience guides to assist the trekkers. Trekking time is about 5 to 6 hours to and fro.KFDC sky cottage is available. View from cottage is just amazing. No words can describe it. A must visit place in Munnar.
